The main components to this journal page are -
- Old Key
- Heart cut from layers of book paper glued together
- Barbed wire chippy ( Dusty Attic)
- Micro Beads (Finnabair)
- Velvet effect paper
- Cupid image transferred on to book paper ( Technique covered in my April post)
- Text cut from an old French book ( Flea market find)
PVA around the edges and apply a liberal amount of micro beads
That is as technical as it gets. The skill is in controlling the micro beads, they are slippery little suckers!
The rest is all down to composition and a good smattering of gold paint applied with the flick of a toothbrush and a few stitches machine sewn around the edge.
Many thanks , until next post I hope I have inspired you to go Minimal :)
This is wonderful Linda! I love it!~kim
ReplyDeletethank you Kim :)
ReplyDeleteThanks bunches for your great inspirational piece!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all - slippery little suckers - totally cracked me up Linda - eheheheh!!! BUT... I must say - you tamed them - that bead heart is amazing... so much so that it was almost sad to see you put the paper heart inside - loved just seeing the beads!!! On the other hand... that layered paper heart is truly wonderful - love the way it is torn so you can see all the layers.... just great. I think your creation is FABULOUS. j.

DeleteMany thanks for your comment J, I get what you say about the beads minus the paper heart... they do create enough impact to make a focal point on their own . you have got me thinking now :)
I had to delete my original reply as a result of my inability to spell!
