Today we welcome are extremely talented and lovely Guest Designers Aditi Mahajan & Sunila Mahajan.
We are so excited with halloween project of ours. This is our work as a guest designer for Mixed Media Mojo October, 2016 The theme is Spookiness and the twist Bats.
So we created a mixed media canvas.
We prepped our canvas with white gesso and stuck die cuts of bats, some wooden pieces, hay, coconut shavings and a few dusty attic chipboards. We then covered all our elements on the canvas with heavy white gesso. Once dry we did the same with black gesso. We added crackle texture paste to the sides and in between our chipboard elements.
Next we started adding in colour with ColourArte pigments-green and gold. We added our highlight colours with Lindy's Stamp gang Rizzos Rowdy Red and Tears on my Pillow Tangerine. We built our canvas further using silks in red, orange and green. We also sprayed Lindy's Blazing Black to further our spookiness!
Once we were happy with our colours we painted a chipboard gate with the same colours and arranged our die cut elements. We coloured our elements with the same Blazing black spray and metallic acrylics.and adhered them onto our board.
