Mixed Media Card Tutorial

Hello everyone!

Sunila & Aditi here from Dots to Lines and today we have a mixed media card tutorial for you'll.

We've gone with the theme of our current challenge Spring with the twist of Showers.

We started with a 6x6" white cardstock card. We decided to work on a 5.5"x5.5" white cardstock panel and then adhere it to our card base.

Begin with a stencil and 3 D Matte gel. Using a palette knife, spread the gel through the stencil. This gel dries clear and matte and resists any paint on it.

Once dry, add colours onto the background using acrylic paints and a water brush. Water the colours down by spraying water and blending them.

Once the panel is dry, distress the edges with the blades of a scissors. Distress here means to  slightly tear the edges, to give it a ruffled look.

Pick out some elements like paper pieces, picture, string, flowers, etc..

Arrange everything on the card and adhere them down. For dimension, use some foam tape. Using watered down blue acrylic colour add some splashes to create droplets around. Stamp a sentiment on cardstock, cut and distress the edges with Picked Raspberry distress ink and add it onto your card.

Here is the finished card

Hope you enjoyed this! Look forward to your participation in the challenge!
