Still Celebrating A Wedding

It's Cathy here today to share another wedding celebration! Have you shared your creation yet? Don't forget to celebrate...with the wedding twist! Make sure you add your link on the original post HERE

This project I went fairly traditional! Not sure why, but I think it was due to this lovely couple from the TH Paper Dolls collection. I have never used 'people" before but have to say...I love these! so many ideas for them, I want to add people to everything!

I used Ranger Distress Paper, then inked it up with my Distress Oxides in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. I then blended on some Broken China and splattered it with water so I got some droplets showing on the blue. I gave it a quick shot with my heat tool and then used embossing ink through the TH stencil and embossed with Charred Gold Embossing Powder from Emerald Creek. I inked the chipboard quote pieces with the Broken China as well.

I dug through my Paper Dolls and found this adorable couple and they fit the theme just right! I coloured in the roses for the bride in red. I then embossed two heart charms with the Charred Gold, just the right touch to go with the quote.

And here is the completed project!

A close up of the bridal flowers. I love this couple and you could customize the coloured roses to go with the colours of the wedding you might be attending and giving this too.

You can see the gorgeous blue in the background and the splats I got from the water, and then that gorgeous melty goodness of the Charred Gold.

And you can't have an important event with out your little 4 legged family! :)

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to share your creations with us :)

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Birthday with Oxides!

Hello Mixed Media Mojo fans! Cathy here with another birthday with a balloon twist project! I am loving the new Oxides, I want to use them on everything and I kind of do!! LOL But I also still love my embossing powders and use them on so many things! Here is my newest project! Please check out the original post HERE and join in the fun!

Happy Birthday Balloons!

I started with a manilla tag and smooshed around my Distress Oxides to get nice colours for my balloons. I then embossed my Emerald Creek Charms with Charred Gold and Hammered Metal. I used a piece of paper from my stash and oxided it up!

I went over my balloons and my stash paper with the Crazing collage Medium, I seriously love this stuff!

Hammered Metal balloon

Charred Gold Balloon

Used my Small talk stickers to add to the birthday sign

Just look at the itty bitty crackly from the crazing medium!

I went over this crackle part with my Wilted Violet Distress Crayon and it just rubbed in so nicely!

On the edges of the balloons I rubbed a quick touch of Finnabair's new Opal Wax to give it some shimmer, it doesn't photograph so great but in person it's a gorgeous shimmer!
All of the wonderful supplies I used for this Oxidey birthday card!

Thanks so much everyone for stopping buy and don't forget to get your Birthday with a balloon twist entry in!! Can't wait to see all the projects you share with us!

It's Heart Month

Hi everyone! It's Cathy here with my first actual post on the Mixed Media Mojo blog! I am very excited to be a part of this talented team and look forward to seeing all the mixed media projects you share with us! This month the theme is love with the twist wings! Be sure to check out the original challenge post HERE and share your creations with us!

I created a 6X6 canvas for my love with wings project this week.

I found the heart with wings stencil in an old box I still had packed away in my storage closet. Perfect timing to to de clutter and make use of my stash.
I started with a black canvas but did a quick coat of black gesso just to cover up some spots that had been rubbed a bit. I then mixed my distress spray with some iridescent medium I had so there was more shimmer and used that for my heart with wings and a few chipboard pieces I wanted to use.

I re discovered my jar of glass bead gel and decided to use that too. Mixed with a bit of pink mica powder from Finnabair's line I layered it on through my TH stencil. A crafty friend of mine thought it was heart shaped hamburgers when I posted a sneak peek of the hearts! LOL

I used my Charred Gold ep from Emerald Creek to highlight some of the rays shooting out from the heart. I then used Eileen Hull's Twist and Style tool for wire hearts. And to grunge things up a bit, I splattered some ground espresso paint across the whole thing. The last pic in this collage shows most of the products I used.
And now for some close ups of the project!

I embossed my TH thinlits words with Charred Gold as well, and used some of the new gemstones from the Emerald Creek Quarry line on the rays and to dot my i.

Just love the Twist and Style tool and with a bit more practice, I'm going to try doing words with it!
Love these gemstones! These are the Pyrite and Moissanite stones and the picture does not do their shimmer justice!

Look as this glorious melty goodness of my Charred Gold embossing powder!! I use this on just about everything these days!

I also went in with my embossing pen and added some Charred Gold to this heart too.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and don't forget to get your entry in for this month's challenge! We have a $25 GC as a prize this month!! Thanks to our amazing sponsor Everything Mixed Media!
